John Stivala joins JLT Insurance Management Malta

John Stivala was appointed General Manager of JLT Insurance Management Malta Limited effective from 26 January 2009. In this role he takes responsibility for the overall operation and for business development. John has worked in the insurance industry for the past 20 years in senior positions in underwriting and captive management operations.
JLT Insurance Management Malta Limited is a joint venture between Jardine Lloyd Thompson and Elmo Insurance Malta. Through captive management services, JLT seeks to improve the economic wealth, which its corporate clients create, by enabling them to effectively finance the risks their businesses face more effectively. JLT had identified a growing interest from companies in establishing captives in an EU domicile. This set us off on a partnership that acknowledged Malta as the domicile of choice and Elmo as a preferred partner for this venture.
Elmo's role in providing local knowledge and infrastructure is central to JLT's vision of delivering the highest quality insurance management services in Malta. Their highly qualified insurance staff has a strong presence in the island's business community, and an understanding of the local regulatory environment that proves invaluable in the licensing and operation of new insurers and reinsurers.
